- To describe the structure of a neuron including dendrites, cell body, nucleus, axon, terminal button, vesicles, neurotransmitters, receptors and transporter molecules
- To describe the process of neurotransmission, with reference to the synapse and excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters
- To outline the role of agonists and antagonists
