Neurons, Synaptic Transmission, and Neurotransmitters

Lesson Objectives

  • To describe the structure of a neuron including dendrites, cell body, nucleus, axon, terminal button, vesicles, neurotransmitters, receptors and transporter molecules
  • To describe the process of neurotransmission, with reference to the synapse and excitatory and inhibitory neurotransmitters
  • To outline the role of agonists and antagonists

The quiz below is about the different types of neurons and how they function, it was written based on the AQA textbook rather than the Edexcel but at the end of the day a neuron is a neuron, whatever board you are studying 😉
