My tips for top exam answers

Data-response questions, i.e. where they give you information about a study and a table, chart or graph:

• if there is data provided, and you are asked to describe the finding/draw conclusions and so on… always use the data to justify/explain your answer, try not just to restate it as it is (question dependent) but draw comparisons, make calculations using the data and so on; the data is there to be used 🙂
• if asked to state a conclusion, this means you have to think about what the aim of the study was and say what the data seems to suggest with the aim and hypothesis in mind, this is NOT the same as simply restating what was found
